Photos Space Event 2016

For the third time the TU Wien Space Team has held the annual Space Event, where we present our projects to our sponsors, partners, and any member of the public interested in our work. Many presentations were held by important people of the aerospace sector.

The main crux of our event was on our European record project “The Hound”, where we presented together with our sponsor Airbus the very first 3D-printed aluminium rocket. There were also presentations on our Cubesat project PEGASUS, the presentation of the new rocket (STR-06) for the competition in France, news regarding our lunar landing module and information on our thruster project.

Around 150 visitors enjoyed the view over Vienna from TUtheSky, where they also got to listened to the presentations of our honoured guests Bastian Schäfer (Airbus), Prof. Otto Koudelka (TU Graz), and Thomas Schachner (Part Time Scientists). Amongst our other guests we were happy to welcome vice rector of TU Wien Matyas and vice rector Fröhlich, former vice rector Prechtl, and Austrian astronaut DI Franz Viehböck. We were also happy to welcome Prof. Johannes Ortner, Michaela Gitsch from the FFG, Mag. Andreas Bauer from Ars Electronica Center, Mag. Monika Fischer from ÖWF, Dr. Martina Griesser-Stermscheg and Dr. Christian Klösch from the Museum of Technology, and Dr. Kappl who helped us with our pyrotechnical endeavours.

We would like to thank everyone who helped and supported us!

Another big thank you to the TU Wien for the amazing location and to the FFG for the financial support!

A nice report of our event can be found under http://oewf.org/2016/05/space-event-2016-der-tu-wien/, thank you to Laura Kronenberg from the ÖWF!
